Retaining walls are found everywhere from highway edges to landscaped parks. Their use in home gardens is particularly helpful for properties that are uneven. Retaining walls need a solid foundation as well as drainage holes depending on size. They are typically constructed with a tilt towards the earth they are shored up against. The materials can range from concrete to stone and for homeowners, wall blocks are available in different styles and cost ranges. Larger areas will need support for the retaining wall so uprights and anchors are available for incorporating into the design.
