How To: Get Rid of Squash Bugs

Squash bugs are frightening little creatures who can ruin a whole crop of squash plants including gourds, cucumbers, winter and summer squashes, pumpkins and more. They draw moisture out of leaves and inject poisons inward, causing the plants to wilt and dry up. They lay eggs on the undersides of leaves. Once spotted, remove them quickly, picking off the adults and throwing them away and scraping the eggs off each leaf with a flat knife. Check consistently for more and use preventive methods to stop the next visit.
