What can you do when the air conditioner doesn’t seem to be putting out cool air like it used to? Before you buy a new unit, there’s a few DIY tricks you can try first. Check the thermostat and make sure it’s actually set to blow cool air and not simply on the fan mode. Make sure the condensation drain isn’t clogged. You also want to clean the condenser coils if they’ve accumulated mold or dirt. Clearing the compressor area of leaves and debris may also solve the problem. If none of these work, the unit may be leaking refrigerant and may need to be checked by a HVAC professional.
