Combining wood with a white color scheme can create a blend of contemporary with historical. For this 300 sq ft Minnesota kitchen, one primary goal was to keep the idea of century old history, but then streamline them and give them a modern spin. An eat in breakfast area features inspiration from an old church pew, even though the dimensions of the pew would not fit the space. The wood throughout is rift and quartered white oak which has a slightly whitewashed look without being overly pickled.
